What is the Ronald McDonald House?
What do we do as volunteers?
The Ronald McDonald Program
at Hillel is a program for everyone. Students get the chance to
go to the Ronald McDonald House
and cook a home-style dinner for the families of children who are
terminally ill. The families stay at the Ronald McDonald House while
their children are treated at Children’s
Hospital of Austin. Families come from all over Texas and stay
at the Ronald McDonald House. They save on hotel costs and on time
commuting back and forth from the hotel to the hospital. In addition,
the House provides families with a loving, caring and supportive
environment with other families who are going through difficult
times too. Our job at the house is to cook dinner for them; we provide
the families with a nice, hot, healthy meal.
